Description

11Schönbrunn guided tour with a difference - exclusive access to the Berglzimmer

Our discovery tour begins in the castle's exotic Berglzimmer, where you will gain a fascinating insight into baroque garden art. Let yourself be enchanted by the magnificent rooms before we head out into the majestic gardens step. The artistically designed paths, magnificent fountains and extensive meadows of the Schönbrunn Gardens are not just a Legacy of the pastbut also a living testimony to the Habsburgs' deeply rooted art of representation.

The historic vineyard - tradition meets modernity

Another special highlight of our tour is the historic Schönbrunn vineyard. The vineyard already existed here in the time of Maria Theresa Liesenpfennigwhich stretched out in front of the orangery of the baroque palace. In the 18th century, joyful grape harvest festivals were celebrated here before the vineyard was later given over to a Orange garden had to make way.

Today, this tradition has been revived thanks to the dedicated Viennese winegrowers of the WienWein Group, which includes well-known wineries such as Christ, Edlmoser, Wieninger, Cobenzl, Mayer am Pfarrplatz and Fuhrgassl-Huber. Since 2009, the restored vineyard has offered a modern interpretation of the Wiener Gemischter Satzwhere different grape varieties are grown and harvested together.
